Death and the Powers
LED Display Walls for Tod Machover's Opera
Death and the Powers is a new high-tech opera created by the MIT Media Lab and the American Repertory Theatre. Composed by Tod Machover and directed by Diane Paulus, the show uses many new custom technologies and display elements. Sosolimited designed the 4 large LED walls used to embody the digitized spirit of Simon Powers, the main character who downloads himself into 'The System'. Oh yeah, and there's robots on stage.
The opera debuted in Monaco on September 25, and comes to Boston at the Majestic Theatre in March 2011.
